PG Soft released this wizard's-workshop slot in October 2022. Twenty-eight spins in a row paid nothing in the middle of my Alchemy Gold session, and the whole demo returned less than half of what it cost. Two consecutive spins in the last third are the reason to write about it anyway: on spin 67 a group of symbols kept growing while the crystal ball under the board climbed to x9, and the spin paid 133.80 at 6.00 a bet.
Same game, real money
Cafe Casino runs the same Alchemy Gold with the same math and adds a welcome bonus for players from the United States:
300% up to $2,000 + 150 FS 18+ · T&Cs apply · the demo stays freeA 5x5 board that keeps the winners
Five or more identical symbols touching side by side or vertically make a winning group. What happens next is unusual:
- The winning groups stay where they are, and every other symbol is cleared away except wilds and scatters.
- New symbols drop into the gaps. If a group grows or a new one forms, the board is cleared around them again.
- Each of those clearings raises the multiplier in the crystal ball by one, starting from x1.
- When nothing grows any more, the groups are paid by size, removed, and the cascade carries on.
Some symbols land as gold pieces. Once a gold piece has been part of a winning group, it comes back as a wild after the payout, ready for the next group. The scatter is a bubbling cauldron. Skylight Wonders plays on the same 5x5 size but makes its wilds in three fixed frames.
| Group size (selected) | Wizard hat | Spellbook | Potion, ring | Spade, heart | Club, diamond |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 8 | 6 | 5 | 3 | 2 |
| 10 | 30 | 18 | 14 | 10 | 8 |
| 15 | 80 | 70 | 60 / 50 | 45 | 30 |

| 25 | 600 | 200 | 200 | 180 | 150 |
My 6.00 stake over a base of 10 made a point worth 0.60, so the smallest group, five clubs, returns just 1.20. Twelve of my nineteen wins were 3.60 or less, which is what small groups at x1 look like.
Spins 66 and 67
Spin 62 ended the empty run with 3.60, and spin 66 paid 44.40. The very next spin showed what the multiplier can do. A group of clubs, several of them gold, grew along the right edge and the bottom of the board, the gold pieces became wilds, and at x6 a 3.60 group paid 21.60, taking the spin to 31.20.
The wilds kept linking new groups. At x9 the groups on the board were worth 11.40, paid as 102.60.
That brought the spin to 133.80, which the game announced as a Mega Win, 22.3 times the bet. Together the two spins paid 178.20, almost two thirds of the session's return.
Cauldrons I never saw
The bonus wants three cauldrons and pays 10 free spins, plus two per cauldron after the third, with retriggers allowed. The multiplier starts at x1 when the round begins and rises in the same way as in the base game, without resetting between free spins. I never had three cauldrons on the board.
A cold session
Nineteen spins out of a hundred won anything. Besides spins 66 and 67, the better results were 27.00 on spin 30 and two of 17.40; everything else was under 8.00. From spin 34 to 61 nothing paid at all, and the last nine spins were empty too. I staked 600.00, got 275.40 back and finished on 99,675.40.
