The counter above the reels of Diner Frenzy Spins reads 178 Connecting Ways. A 5x4 grid would normally give 1,024 ways, so the smaller figure is the first clue to how this June 2025 PG Soft slot pays: a symbol only counts if it sits on the same row as the one before it or on a row next to it. Over 100 demo spins at 12.00, the bonus came on spin 4 and paid 414.00, a Mystery Respin added 279.00 on spin 86, and the session still finished 251.40 down.

Why 178 and not 1,024
The paytable says winning symbols must touch side by side or diagonally, reel by reel from the left, so each one links to the same row or a neighbouring row on the next reel. Four rows give 178 such paths and seven give 421, the top figure in the rules, and every win in my session matched that count.
Both features described below add a row at 10, 20 and 30 symbols, and the count grows with it:
| Symbols collected in a feature | Rows | Connecting ways |
|---|---|---|
| Start | 4 | 178 |
| 10 | 5 | 259 |
| 20 | 6 | 340 |
| 30 | 7 | 421 |
On spin 38 the rule was easy to follow. Cheese fries landed once on each of reels one, two, three and five, with three stacked on reel four, every piece on a row touching the next. Each of the three on reel four linked to both neighbours, so the chain counted as three ways: 3 x 50 points, or 90.00 at 0.60 a point.
Five pairs on the menu
The ten food symbols come in pairs, and the pairing decides both features: once a pair is chosen, the small item on the left turns into the big one on the right. There is no wild. The scatter, a waitress in a pink cap, lands only on reels one, three and five.
| Low symbol | 3 / 4 / 5 | Upgrades to | 3 / 4 / 5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mini burger | 5 / 8 / 15 | Hamburger | 25 / 40 / 100 |
| Chicken wing | 4 / 6 / 12 | Bucket of chickens | 20 / 30 / 75 |
| Fries | 3 / 5 / 10 | Cheese fries | 15 / 25 / 50 |
| Small soda | 2 / 3 / 6 | Large soda | 12 / 18 / 40 |
| Ice cream | 1 / 2 / 5 | Sundae | 10 / 15 / 30 |
Spin 86, a Mystery Respin with chicken
A Mystery Respin can start at random while the reels turn. The game picks one pair, every other symbol goes dark, and only those two can land. On spin 86 it was wings and buckets:
- Each new wing or bucket stays where it lands, and wings become buckets.
- The reels respin as long as at least one new symbol appears.
- Ten symbols on the grid add a fifth row, twenty a sixth and thirty a seventh.
- A respin with nothing new ends the feature, and the grid pays once.
The respins stopped at nine buckets, one short of the fifth row. Five paths crossed all five reels. Three more ended on reel four, because the only bucket on reel five sat two rows below them. That made 5 x 75 plus 3 x 30 points, 465 points or 279.00.
Bonus Spins on spin 4
Three scatters start the Bonus Feature, which plays like the Mystery Respin with a counter: three bonus spins, and every new symbol sets the counter back to three. Nothing is paid until the counter runs out. My scatters came early, two on reels one and three and the third at the top of reel five, and the game chose ice cream and sundaes, the cheapest pair.
The tenth sundae added the fifth row, and the counter above the reels went from 178 to 259 ways. The bonus spins kept going until fifteen sundaes stood on the grid, five short of a sixth row.
A sundae is worth only 30 points for five, but fifteen of them on five rows made 20 full paths and six paths of four: 600 plus 90 points. At 0.60 a point that is 414.00, or 34.5 stakes, and the balance reached 100,373.20, its highest point of the session.
100 spins at 12.00
Twenty-seven of the hundred spins paid. The bonus, the Mystery Respin and the cheese fries made 783.00 between them; the other 24 wins came to 165.60, and only five of those returned the 12.00 stake or more, the largest 30.00 on spin 22. Eleven spins in a row, 49 to 59, paid nothing. I staked 1,200.00, got 948.60 back and closed on 99,748.60.
Perfect Strike uses a similar respin with bowling trophies on a 3x3 grid: only trophies can land, and every respin that adds one keeps the round going.
