Perseus killed Medusa with gifts from the gods, and in PG Soft's July 2022 slot those gifts, a winged horse, a shield, a helmet and a curved sword, lie scattered in her lair. Medusa is the scatter, a gold helmet is the wild, and the sea monster from the myth pays the most. What sets the game apart is size: symbols can land as 2x2 or 3x3 blocks with a multiplier printed on them, and every block that wins adds its number to the spin's total. Across 100 demo spins at 12.00, 46 paid and I came out 563.40 up, all of it without the free spins.

With all 30 positions filled by single symbols, the board has 15,625 ways, five to the sixth power. Large symbols use more space and count once, so the plaque at the top usually shows far fewer: my spins ranged from a few hundred to 10,000. Some symbols take a 2x1 slot, others a 2x2 or a full 3x3 block.
Wins pay from reel one rightwards across adjacent reels, cascades follow every win, and the wild lands on reels two to six. The opening screen already shows the main idea: a 2x2 sea monster tagged x5 and a 3x3 Pegasus tagged x10.
How the tags become a multiplier
A 2x2 block carries x3 to x5, a 3x3 block x5 to x10. When a tagged block takes part in a win, it explodes like any symbol, and its number is added to the multiplier shown above the reels. Every later round of the same spin is paid at that total. In my session the counter was empty again at the start of each new spin.
Spin 33 needed only two rounds to show it. Two 2x2 vases tagged x5 landed on reels one and four, a single vase between them made the way, and the first round paid 22.80 at no multiplier.
Both vases were collected, the counter read x10, and the cascade brought a round of single symbols worth 19.20. At x10 it paid 192.00, and the spin ended at 214.80, almost 18 stakes, my best of the session.
Spin 43: four rounds up to x27
A longer chain shows how the total can grow inside one spin. The first round paid 4.20 and collected a vase and a sea monster, x4 each, for x8. At x8 the next round paid 115.20 and picked up three more x4 tags, taking the counter to x20. Two further rounds added 48.00 and 28.80 while the counter moved on to x24 and x27.
The spin closed at 196.20 as a Mega Win. Nine other spins also collected tags, from x4 to x22, and finished between 61.20 and 180.00.
| Spin | Final counter | Paid |
|---|---|---|
| 33 | x15 | 214.80 |
| 43 | x27 | 196.20 |
| 11 | x12 | 180.00 |
| 12 | x14 | 175.20 |
| 1 | x22 | 148.80 |
| 62 | x7 | 135.60 |
The highest counter did not mean the highest win. What matters is the size of the round that comes after the tags are collected; spin 1 reached x22 but had little left to multiply.
Sea monster to J
Every value is paid per way, from three of a kind to six, on a base bet of 20 points:
| Symbol | 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 | Six on one way vs stake |
|---|---|---|
| Sea monster | 5 / 8 / 10 / 20 | 1x |
| Pegasus, shield, helmet | 3 / 5 / 6 / 10 | 0.5x |
| Crossed swords, vase, coins | 2 / 3 / 5 / 6 | 0.3x |
| A, K, Q, J | 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 | 0.2x |
The table is flat: even six sea monsters on one way return only the stake. Thousands of ways and the collected tags do the work instead.
Free spins
Medusa is the key to the feature: four of her bring 10 free spins, a fifth or sixth adds two each, and the round can start again from inside. The same collection rule applies during the feature. Four scatters never landed together in my 100 spins, so I cannot say from my own play whether the collected total carries from one free spin to the next.
For another way of building a multiplier from symbols on the board, Garuda Gems counts its wilds in sets of three.
RTP, cap and my session
The studio's numbers for this one are 96.77% return and a ceiling of 50,000x. I played the 12.00 default, size 0.30 at level 2, so a point was 0.60, and the balance went from 100,000.00 to 100,563.40: 1,763.40 back from 1,200.00. The demo runs like every other PG Soft game reviewed here, on play money.

Tags first, wins second
Legend of Perseus rewards patience inside a spin. The first round is often small and exists mainly to collect tags; the round after it decides the result. Almost half my spins paid, and eleven of them collected tags, which kept the session ahead with no help from the free spins. The paytable by itself is modest, so large results depend on big blocks taking part in the first wins of a cascade.
