Five gold symbols touching in the lower left corner turned into wilds at once, and that spin paid 423.00 on a 36.00 stake, almost twelve times the bet. Midas Fortune came out in December 2022 and tells the story of the Greek king whose touch turned everything to gold. It has no reels in the usual sense: the board is a 5x5 grid of marble tiles, and five or more matching symbols touching side by side or top to bottom make a win. Gold symbols turn into wilds, and every wild that joins a win raises a multiplier that stays until the spin is over.

Cafe Casino runs the same Midas Fortune with the same math and adds a welcome bonus for players from the United States:

Clusters need five or more identical symbols linked horizontally or vertically; diagonal contact does not count. The pay depends on size, from 5 symbols to 20 or more, and after the payout the cluster disappears and the gap refills from above for another round.
The cast is King Midas, his daughter, a treasure chest, grapes, a goblet and the letters A, K and Q. A purple wild can stand in for any symbol but the scatter. Two scatters are already showing on the opening board; a third would have started the free spins.
Two ways for gold to turn wild
Some ordinary symbols land gold on any spin, and gold becomes wild in one of two ways. A gold symbol inside a winning cluster stays behind as a wild when the rest of the cluster is cleared. And when three or more gold symbols touch, the Midas Gold Feature converts the whole group to wilds before anything pays.
This board shows the second case. Five gold symbols touched in the lower left corner, a goblet, grapes and three kings, and all five changed together. The gold queen higher up touched none of them and stayed a queen.
The five new wilds formed one connected block in the lower left, so any symbol touching that block could count all five of them.
A multiplier counted in wilds
When wilds take part in a win, the round is multiplied by the number of wilds involved. The figure then stays above the board and grows with each later win that uses wilds, until the spin ends.
A win without wilds is paid without the multiplier, even while one is on display. Mahjong Ways turns gold tiles into wilds as well, but its multiplier climbs with cascades; this one climbs with wilds.
One spin: five wilds, 423.00
With a paytable point worth 1.80 at my stake, five clusters reached into the wild block on that spin:
| Cluster | Own symbols + wilds | Size | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goblet | 1 + 5 | 6 | 10 |
| Grapes | 1 + 5 | 6 | 10 |
| Q | 2 + 5 | 7 | 10 |
| A | 2 + 5 | 7 | 10 |
| K | 1 + 5 | 6 | 5 |
| Round total | 45 | ||
45 points come to 81.00, the figure on the board, and with five wilds involved the round paid x5: 405.00. After the cascade, seven queens connected with no wild among them. Seven queens pay 10 points, 18.00, and the x5 above the board did not apply.
405.00 plus 18.00 makes the final 423.00, 11.75 times the stake. Each wild did two jobs on that spin: it sat in five clusters at once, and it counted towards the x5.
A multiplier kept for the whole feature
Eight free spins need three scatters anywhere, and each scatter beyond three adds 2. During the feature two scatters are enough for 4 more spins, so the round can be retriggered.
The multiplier is what changes. In free spins it is not reset after each spin; it stays to the end of the feature and keeps growing with every wild that joins a win. I never reached the feature, so all of this is read from the rules screen.
Five letters pay 1 point, twenty kings 150
The base bet of 20 means a spin costs 20 paytable points, which puts the small clusters in perspective.
Five letters return 1 point, a twentieth of the stake. Values climb fast with size, and 20 or more kings pay 7.5 times the stake:
| Cluster size | King, daughter | Chest, grapes, goblet | A, K, Q |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 5 | 2 | 1 |
| 6 | 20 | 10 | 5 |
| 7 | 30 | 15 | 10 |
| 8-9 | 40 | 20 | 15 |
| 10-11 | 50 | 30 | 20 |
| 12-14 | 60 | 40 | 30 |
| 15-19 | 80 | 60 | 50 |
| 20+ | 150 | 100 | 80 |
Twenty points a spin, and the specs
The rules inside the game say nothing about a cap; the maximum win in this table is the figure from PG Soft's game page.

|---|---|
| Provider | PG Soft |
| Released | December 2022 |
| Board | 5 x 5, cluster pays, cascades |
| Wins | 5+ matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically |
| Gold symbols | Become wilds after a win; 3+ touching become wilds at once |
| Wild multiplier | +1 per wild in a win; stays for the spin |
| Free spins | 8 for 3 scatters, +2 per extra; +4 for 2 during the feature; multiplier kept |
| RTP | 96.73% |
| Max win | 5,000x (PG Soft game page) |
| Bet in the demo | 0.60 to 180 per spin |
A base bet of 20 is why the cheapest spin costs 0.60, twenty times the smallest bet size of 0.03 at level 1. The demo opens at 12.00; I set size 0.90 and level 2 for 36.00.
The top of the range is 180.00 a spin (size 0.90 at level 10), and between the extremes sit two more sizes, 0.10 and 0.30. As with every game in our free PG Soft demo collection, there is nothing to install and nothing to deposit.
Gold, wilds and the multiplier: questions
What turns a gold symbol into a wild in Midas Fortune?
Does the multiplier apply to every win?
Is the multiplier kept from one spin to the next?
What do scatters give in Midas Fortune?
How small can a winning cluster be?
Waiting for gold to touch
Midas Fortune pays for gold. Small clusters return next to nothing, so most spins pass without much happening until gold symbols land next to each other; then a block of wilds can feed several clusters at once and multiply all of them. Free spins keep the multiplier for the whole feature, but they did not trigger in my 75 spins. The best result came from one block of five gold symbols in a corner: 423.00, with five clusters sharing the same wilds.
