Opera Dynasty is set backstage at a Beijing opera, where, in PG Soft's story, the actress Yu Rong has played Dan roles for twenty years. The January 2021 slot borrows the opera's painted faces and costumes for its symbols and adds two flags from the stage: a red one that clears every card symbol off the reels and a blue one that drops in extra wilds. My 100 demo spins at 12.00 ended 819.60 ahead, and almost all of that came from one round of free spins that paid 1,060.80.
Same game, real money
Cafe Casino runs the same Opera Dynasty with the same math and adds a welcome bonus for players from the United States:
300% up to $2,000 + 150 FS 18+ · T&Cs apply · the demo stays freeRed flag and blue flag
The flags also turn up in the base game; I saw the red one on spin 42. When the Red Flag Feature starts, every A, K, Q and J is removed from the reels before they stop, so the board fills with opera characters only. The Blue Flag Feature adds three to five wilds to the reels before they stop.
On spin 42 the red flag came down, and with no cards left the first round paid 96.00 and the next 60.00: 156.00 in all, thirteen stakes, my best base-game result. Other base-game spins stayed well below that, the next best paying 43.20.
The same stage as Dreams of Macau
Six reels of five rows sit under a horizontal reel that feeds reels two to five, a layout PG Soft first used in 2020. Symbols on the middle reels can stand two to four rows tall and count once, so the ways shown at the top change with every cascade, between 2,025 and 32,400.
Silver and gold frames follow the same route as in Asgardian Rising and its relatives, from silver to gold after one win and to wilds after another. Here the gold symbol splits into two to four separate wilds, one per position it covered.
Flags that add free spins
It takes a full house of four scatters to open 8 free spins, and a fifth or sixth scatter adds two apiece. My round on spin 91 started with 10. During the feature, flag symbols can land on the reels; each one collected adds a free spin, and the next free spin plays with that flag's feature. In those flag spins the multiplier opens at x2 and rises by 2 per winning round, to a maximum of x10.
The flags turned my round around. Several of them landed, the round grew from 10 to 16 free spins, and the flag spins produced most of the money. One blue-flag spin cascaded from x2 to x6 and paid 307.20; another reached x4 for 134.40.
The last free spin, a red flag with no cards on the reels, added 264.00 more, and the Total Win screen showed 1,060.80 for the 16 free spins, 88 stakes.
Painted faces and opera props
The Dan actress is worth the most and the three lowest cards the least. Measured against the 20-point base bet, one way of six pays:
| Symbol | 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 | Six on one way vs stake |
|---|---|---|
| Dan actress in full headdress | 30 / 40 / 60 / 150 | 7.5x |
| Actress in blue headdress | 20 / 25 / 50 / 80 | 4x |
| Red painted face | 10 / 25 / 40 / 60 | 3x |
| Green painted face | 8 / 15 / 20 / 30 | 1.5x |
| Old man's face, opera boots | 6 / 10 / 12 / 15 | 0.75x |
| Red hat, A | 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 | 0.5x |
| K, Q, J | 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 | 0.2x |
The Red Flag Feature makes more sense against this table: K, Q and J are the weakest symbols by far, and removing them leaves room for faces that pay several times more.
RTP and my session
By PG Soft's numbers the return is 96.79%, and a single spin can go as high as 100,000x. I played the demo's default 12.00, size 0.30 at level 2, where a paytable point is 0.60, and the balance finished at 100,819.60, 2,019.60 back on 1,200.00. More free games from the studio are on the home page.

Two flags, one good round
Opera Dynasty takes a proven board and adds two simple stage tricks, and both are easy to follow: no cards, or more wilds. In the base game they are rare, and my one red flag there paid 156.00. In the free spins they come with their own climbing multiplier and an extra spin each, and that combination produced a round of 88 stakes in my session.
