Dragon Hatch 2 is PG Soft's sequel to its 2019 cluster game, released at the start of 2024. The story moves on to the Dragon Queen's three eggs and the hunters chasing the dragon's eye gem, but the engine is familiar: a 5x5 board where four or more touching symbols win, cascades, and a bar that collects winning symbols and hatches a dragon feature when it fills. Two things are new. A wild sits permanently in the middle of the board, and the bar's targets have moved. I played the demo below at 24.00 a spin.
Same game, real money
Cafe Casino runs the same Dragon Hatch 2 with the same math and adds a welcome bonus for players from the United States:
300% up to $2,000 + 150 FS 18+ · T&Cs apply · the demo stays freeA wild that never leaves the centre
The board is five by five, and a group wins when four or more matching symbols touch horizontally or vertically. Winning symbols explode, the rest fall, and new ones drop in until no group is left. The opening screen shows the new piece straight away: a golden W in the third column of the third row.
That wild is sticky. It stays in the centre for every round of every spin and substitutes for all symbols, so any group that reaches the middle of the board gets one free member.
In practice the centre wild turns three touching symbols around it into a winning four, and it is still there after every cascade.
Two wins that both ran through the wild
My stake was 0.30 x 8 x 10 = 24.00, so each paytable point was worth 0.30 x 8 = 2.40. The first win was a group of four clubs around the middle row plus the centre wild, five symbols in all.
Five of a low symbol pay 2 points, and 2 x 2.40 = 4.80, a fifth of the stake. The second win, later in a longer cascade, was three green Earth dragons touching the wild: a group of four, worth 10 points, or 24.00.
Without the sticky wild, neither group would have paid: both had only three or four symbols of their own. On that second screen the bar above the reels reads 17/30 and the win panel shows 100.80 for the spin so far, which means the bar had already passed its first target.
The collection bar and the four dragons
Every symbol that explodes in a win is added to the bar. When a cascade ends with no new win, the game checks the bar, and if it has reached a target, the matching dragon feature starts and the board gets another chance. In the demo the bar is back at 0/10 at the start of each spin, so it has to be filled within a single spin.
The four features build on each other, and each needs more symbols than the last:
| Collected in one spin | Feature | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | Earth Dragon | Removes all low symbols from the reels |
| 30 | Water Dragon | Adds a column of one random dragon or eye symbol to reel two, and another to reel four |
| 55 | Fire Dragon | Adds a wild to a random position on reels one, two, four and five |
| 80 | Dragon Queen | Wilds in all four corners for the rest of the spin, and every low symbol becomes a high one |
The Dragon Queen is the one that changes everything: with the centre wild and four corner wilds fixed, and no low symbols left, almost every cascade lands a premium group.
Reaching 80 symbols in one spin takes a long cascade chain, which is exactly why the features are rare and why they matter. The game stops paying at 2,500x the stake: if a spin or the feature reaches it, the spin ends.
The Big Win
My best result was a Big Win of 196.80, 8.2 times the stake, or 82 points. The celebration hides the board, so I cannot show which groups made it.
For scale, a group of eight baby dragons pays 50 points and a group of eight dragon's eyes 100, so 82 points takes several groups across a cascade chain. Results of that size come from long chains and the bar features, not from one lucky group.
Paytable: 4 to 22 symbols
Payouts are the paytable value times bet size and bet level, and a spin costs 10 times that product. Dividing a value by 10 gives the win against the stake.
The dragon's eye is the top symbol, and a group of 22 or more of them is worth 2,000x the stake. The three baby dragons share one column of values, and so do the four card suits:
| Group size | Dragon's eye | Earth, Water, Fire dragons | Spade, club, heart, diamond |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 20 (2x) | 10 (1x) | 1 (0.1x) |
| 5 | 30 | 20 | 2 |
| 6 | 40 | 30 | 3 |
| 7 | 50 | 40 | 4 |
| 8 | 100 | 50 | 5 |
| 9 | 200 | 60 | 10 |
| 10-12 | 250 | 80 | 15 |
| 13-14 | 300 | 100 | 20 |
| 15-17 | 500 | 150 | 30 |
| 18-21 | 5,000 (500x) | 1,000 (100x) | 250 (25x) |
| 22+ | 20,000 (2,000x) | 4,000 (400x) | 2,000 (200x) |
The jump between 17 and 18 symbols is enormous for every symbol, and a group that size is only realistic once the Dragon Queen has filled the board with wilds and premium symbols.
Dragon Hatch 2 or Dragon Hatch?
The original Dragon Hatch from 2019 uses the same 5x5 board and the same four dragons. The differences are in the details:
| Dragon Hatch 2 | Dragon Hatch | |
|---|---|---|
| Released | 2024 | 2019 |
| Sticky centre wild | Yes, every round | No |
| Bar targets | 10, 30, 55, 80 | 10, 30, 50, 70 |
| RTP | 96.76% | 96.83% |
| Max win | 2,500x, the spin ends there | 15,000x cap, 2,027x simulated |
| Bet in the demo | 0.30 to 90 | 0.30 to 90 |
PG Soft's game page lists the 96.76% RTP and the 2,500x maximum, and the rules confirm the cap. The studio does not publish a volatility rating, so I leave it out. The count-the-symbols idea, with no lines or ways, is the same one Zombie Blasters uses, although that game pays anywhere on the board rather than for touching groups.
Bet: 0.30 to 90 in the demo
The demo opens at 6.00. The Bet Options panel multiplies a bet size, a bet level from 1 to 10 and the fixed base bet of 10; my session ran at 0.30 x 8 x 10 = 24.00.
Bet sizes run from 0.03 to 0.90, so a spin costs from 0.30 (0.03 x 1 x 10) to 90.00 (0.90 x 10 x 10). Real-money limits depend on the casino and the currency, as with every game in the PG Soft demo collection here.

Verdict
Dragon Hatch 2 keeps everything that made the original work and adds one generous rule: a wild that never leaves the centre. That wild quietly turns threes into fours, as in both of my readable wins, and every win feeds the bar towards the four dragons. The bigger rewards still depend on one long spin filling the bar to 55 or 80. Play the demo and watch the counter above the reels; the spins that cross 30 are where this game comes alive.
