Giants, geese and card suits

Wins pay per way from the leftmost reel, then explode, and new symbols drop in. The wild, a gold W, lands only on reels two to four; the scatter is a golden bean. At 12.00 one paytable point is 0.60, so five giants on a single way pay 48.00.

Seeds and eggs

Some symbols land with a gold frame. A framed symbol that wins does not vanish with the rest: before the next drop it changes into one of two things.

• Sprouting Seed. Its reel gets one symbol taller for the rest of the spin, so the ways count grows. A reel stops at eight.
• Golden Egg. Adds one to the multiplier, which is applied to the whole spin when the cascade ends. On a reel that has already reached eight, framed symbols can only become eggs.

One detail the rules leave out: the first egg shows only x1 above the reels. Spin 64 had two eggs and paid at x2, and spin 46 went from x1 to x3 with three, so it takes a second egg before the win is doubled.

Spin 64, from 203.40 to 406.80

It opened on the plain 1,024-way board. Giants on reels one, four and five connected through two wilds on reels two and three, gold sacks joined in, and that single round paid 203.40.

Three of the winning symbols had frames. Two turned into golden eggs, on reels one and three, and one into a seed on reel five, which grew to five symbols and lifted the count to 1,280 ways.

The next drop paid nothing, so the cascade stopped there and the x2 doubled 203.40 into 406.80, almost 34 stakes.

Spin 46, a longer climb

Spin 46 took the other route. Geese and wilds started it with 61.80, and the cascade then ran for several rounds while seeds kept stretching the reels. By the end the board showed 2,880 ways, the win had reached 96.60 and three eggs stood at x3: 289.80 in total.

Twelve free spins I did not reach

Four golden beans start 12 free spins, and every bean past the fourth adds two. In the round each reel starts six symbols tall, the multiplier opens at x2, and every egg adds two instead of one. The round can be retriggered. My closest call was the third spin of the session: three beans, on reels one and three, an x4 on the board and 57.60, one bean short.

What 100 spins returned

Twenty-five spins paid, and nine of them were worth more than four stakes:

Those nine made 1,260.00; the other sixteen wins added 223.20. Nothing paid from spin 21 to 32. I staked 1,200.00, collected 1,483.20 and ended on 100,283.20, with the balance at its highest after spin 72.
