Jurassic Kingdom Demo

In PG Soft's story behind Jurassic Kingdom, a paleontologist named Dr Louis finds a cave in Patagonia where the last Argentinosaurus mother guards hundreds of eggs. Five of those eggs now sit under the reels and carry the multiplier, x1 to x5, one step for every winning cascade. The game came out in July 2021 on a six-by-six grid of dinosaurs and card ranks. In my 100-spin demo session at 12.00 a spin, 41 spins won something, and the best climbed through four eggs to 249.00.

Spin 33, one egg at a time

The clearest way to see how the eggs work is a spin that used most of them. Each row of the table is one round of the same spin; the multiplier is the egg that was lit when the round was paid.

RoundMultiplierPaid
1: aces through a wildx13.60
2x22.40
3x370.20 (23.40 before the multiplier)
4x4172.80 (43.20 before)
Total249.00, 20.75 stakes

The first two rounds were worth six coins together. After that the cascade kept dropping matching symbols, and by the time the fourth round paid, each point on the board counted four times. The last egg, x5, lit up as well, but nothing more connected.

Six reels of six, and dinosaurs that take up room

Every reel has six positions, but a symbol can be two, three or four positions tall and still count as one. A reel of tall dinosaurs therefore holds fewer symbols, and the ways shown at the top swing with every cascade, from 64 when each reel holds just two symbols up to 46,656 when all 36 positions are single.

Jurassic Kingdom 6x6 board 1920 ways

Wins pay from the leftmost reel for three of a kind or more on adjacent reels. Wilds land on reels two to five and replace everything except the volcano scatter.

Stone frames, gold frames, wilds

Some tall symbols arrive in a grey stone frame. A framed symbol that takes part in a win stays put and reappears next round as some other symbol, now framed in gold. If the gold-framed symbol wins as well, it turns into a wild of the same height. PG Soft calls this Wilds-on-the-Way and uses it in several games, Dreams of Macau among them; there the wilds carry a counter, here they do not.

Spin 8 opened with two wilds on the board and kept winning for five rounds: 10.80, 43.20, 10.80, 19.20 and 24.00 for 108.00. The second round, at x2, was the largest:

Six other spins chained two to four winning rounds and finished between 47.40 and 136.80. Most of the remaining wins were a single round of card ranks at x1.

Eight free spins and a ladder that keeps rising

Four volcano scatters give 8 free spins, two more per extra scatter. In the feature the five eggs start at x1, x2, x3, x4 and x5, and after every free spin all of them rise by one, so the tenth free spin of a long round would start at x10 and reach x14. Each +1 symbol that lands during the round adds one more free spin. Four scatters never appeared together in my session, so this part comes from the rules.

T. rex to the 10

Values are per way. Against the 20 points a spin costs, a six-symbol way works out as shown on the right:

Symbol3 / 4 / 5 / 6Six on one way vs stake
Tyrannosaurus30 / 40 / 60 / 1507.5x
Triceratops20 / 25 / 50 / 804x
Purple armoured dinosaur10 / 25 / 40 / 603x
Blue raptor8 / 15 / 20 / 301.5x
Green crested dinosaur, beaked dinosaur6 / 10 / 12 / 150.75x
A, K4 / 6 / 8 / 100.5x
Q, J, 101 / 2 / 3 / 40.2x

The tyrannosaurus jumps from 60 for five to 150 for six, the steepest step in the table, so a T. rex on all six reels is worth chasing.

Release, RTP and my 100 spins

Officially the game returns 96.72% and can pay up to 100,000x the bet. Like the rest of the PG Soft demos on this site, it runs on play money:

Jurassic Kingdom FAQ

How does the egg multiplier work?
The first round of a spin pays x1, and each winning round lights the next egg: x2, x3, x4, then x5 for the fifth round and every round after it. A new spin starts again at x1.
What do the stone and gold frames do?
After a win, a stone frame turns its symbol into a different one with a gold frame. A gold-framed symbol that wins becomes a wild of the same height.
How many free spins does Jurassic Kingdom give?
8 for four scatters and 2 more for each extra one. Each +1 symbol landing during the round adds a further free spin.
What changes in the free spins?
All five multiplier steps rise by one after every free spin, so the ladder that starts at x1 to x5 becomes x2 to x6, then x3 to x7, and so on.

A slow ladder with a long top

Jurassic Kingdom pays often in small amounts, 41 of my 100 spins, and almost all the value sits in cascades that survive three or four rounds. Spin 33 got there and turned 3.60 of aces into 249.00; most winning spins ended after one round. The free spins are built to go further, with a ladder that keeps rising for the whole round, but my session ended without them and 235.20 short of the money staked.
