Supermarket Spree Demo

The tenth anniversary sale at Marina's supermarket, "Mark Each Coin" in PG Soft's story, is the setting for this September 2021 slot. Shopping is the theme throughout: lobsters, hams, milk, bread and cheese on a six-by-six shelf, a shopping basket under the reels, and multiplier stars that drop in like sale stickers. Symbols pay anywhere on the grid, eight of a kind being enough. A 100-spin demo session at 12.00 produced 36 wins and a 944.40 profit, thanks mostly to one round of free spins that paid 1,161.60.

The return figure from the studio is 96.71%, and no spin can pay more than 25,000x. My balance moved from 100,000.00 to 100,944.40, with 2,144.40 returned on 1,200.00 staked. More free demos are on the PG Soft slot list.

Eight anywhere, no lines or ways

The grid has 36 positions. Eight or more of one symbol anywhere on it form a win, whether they touch or not, and the payout depends only on how many there are. Winning symbols disappear and the gaps refill from above until nothing new matches.

Supermarket Spree 6x6 grocery grid stars

The opening grid already shows two stars, x5 and x2. A star stays on the board for the whole spin; when the cascades are over, all stars are added together and the spin's total win is multiplied by that sum.

Groups by size

The paytable lists seven group sizes. A spin costs 20 points, so 15 or more lobsters, worth 300, return fifteen stakes before any star:

Lobster4080150300
Ham3060100250

Bananas10204080
Apple9153060
Grapes8102050
Orange691540
Egg581030

The table leaves out 9, 11 and 13-14, which sit between the listed values. The scatter, a shopping basket, pays nothing itself.

Stars do the heavy lifting: 16.20 into 81.00

Each paytable point came to 0.60 on my 12.00 spins (size 0.30, level 2). Spin 4 began with a x5 star in the corner. Oranges and apples paid 4.80 and 5.40 in the first two rounds, a third round brought the spin to 16.20, and the star made it 81.00.

Supermarket Spree x5 star 81 total win

Stars add, they do not multiply each other: on spin 93 a x5 and a x3 together made x8 for 72.00. In the base game they range from x2 to x5, and a spin without a star pays its cascades at face value.

Bigger stars in the free spins

Three baskets give 10 free spins, extra baskets 2 each, and two baskets during the round add 5 more. The stars in the feature are bigger, from x5 to x50, and each free spin is multiplied by the sum of its own stars.

My round started on spin 82. With three free spins left, a group of milk cartons and a group of apples paid 54.00 together, and a single x15 star had already landed.

Supermarket Spree milk and apples pay 54

Fifteen times 54.00 is 810.00, a Super Mega Win and 67.5 stakes from one free spin. The last free spin added 33.00 times a x5 star, 165.00, and the ten spins closed at 1,161.60.

Supermarket Spree x15 star applied to 54

The same idea of multipliers summed at the end of a spin drives Emoji Riches, where each wild sticker adds x2, but there the multipliers come from wilds rather than separate stars.

Supermarket Spree FAQ

How do wins work in Supermarket Spree?
Eight or more of the same symbol anywhere on the 6x6 grid win, no lines or adjacency needed. The payout grows with the size of the group, up to 15 or more.
How are the multiplier stars applied?
All stars on the grid are added together at the end of the spin, and the spin's total win is multiplied by that sum. In my session a x5 and a x3 made x8.
What changes in the free spins?
Stars become x5 to x50, and two baskets during the round add 5 free spins. Each free spin uses only its own stars.
Which symbol pays most?
The lobster: 40 points for eight and 300 for fifteen or more.

Shopping for stars

Supermarket Spree is simple to follow: count the groceries, then count the stars. Without a star the cascades rarely add up to much, and with one even a modest spin becomes worth several stakes. The free spins raise the stars to as much as x50, and in my session a single x15 star on a 54.00 free spin was worth more than the other nine free spins together.
