PG Soft released Wings of Iguazu in August 2024 with a single mechanic at its centre, the blue macaw. Every one that lands adds 2 to the win multiplier, and during free spins that multiplier stays for the rest of the round. The setting is the Iguazu Falls, the board is three reels with a taller middle one, and ten fixed lines run across it. Out of my 100 spins at 18.00, fifteen paid, and seven of those carried a macaw multiplier, the 360.00 top result among them.
Same game, real money
Cafe Casino runs the same Wings of Iguazu with the same math and adds a welcome bonus for players from the United States:
300% up to $2,000 + 150 FS 18+ · T&Cs apply · the demo stays freeTen lines on a 3-4-3 board
Reels one and three hold three symbols each, the middle reel holds four, and the line numbers 1 to 10 are printed down both edges. A line needs three of a kind starting from the left, and only its highest win is paid. The explorer in the sun hat is the wild. She appears on the middle reel only and stands in for everything except the waterfall scatter, but she has no payout of her own.
The rest of the cast is three birds and four fruits. The opening screen already shows two macaws stacked in the middle reel between two wilds, each bird carrying an x2 badge.
What a blue macaw does
The macaw is the top paying symbol, 50 for three on a line, but it matters more as a multiplier. According to the rules, each one on the reels raises the multiplier by 2 before wins are paid. In my session one macaw meant x2 and two meant x4, and a bird did not have to sit on the winning line to count. Garuda Gems collects its wilds toward a multiplier too, but only every third one moves it.
At 18.00 a spin (size 0.90, level 2) each paytable point was worth 1.80. On spin 37 a toucan line through the wild was worth 40 points, 72.00. Macaws sat at the bottom of reels two and three, the banner showed x4, and the spin paid 288.00, sixteen times the stake.
Spin 24 followed the same pattern on a smaller scale: one papaya line at 18.00, two macaws elsewhere on the board, 72.00 in total.
100 spins at 18.00
Fifteen wins in a hundred spins is about half the rate I saw on the 3x3 board of Rio Fantasia, and the birds decided which of them mattered.
| Session | Result |
|---|---|
| Spins played | 100 |
| Winning spins | 15 |
| Wins with a macaw multiplier | 7 (four at x2, three at x4) |
| Total returned | 1,582.20 of 1,800.00 staked |
| Best spin | 360.00, 20x the stake |
| Free spins | Not triggered |
The seven multiplied wins brought in 1,260.00, close to four fifths of everything returned. Without a bird on the board, the biggest result was 144.00 from two toucan lines on spin 61, and most other wins were small fruit lines of 3.60 to 18.00.
Five watermelon lines doubled
Spin 40 put watermelons in the top two rows of reels one and three. Reel two had a watermelon at the top and the wild under it, so five of the ten lines connected.
Three watermelons pay 20 points, 36.00 per line, and five lines came to 180.00. A single macaw at the bottom of reel three doubled that to 360.00, and the game announced it as a Mega Win.
Three waterfalls for 10 free spins
Three waterfall scatters anywhere start 10 free spins. During the round the first and third reels show identical symbols, the multiplier starts at x2, and each macaw adds 2 more that is kept until the round is over. Three scatters inside the feature add another 5 spins. Two scatters landed on spins 31 and 83, but the third never followed, so this part of the review is based on the rules.
Spin 31 paid anyway: toucans on all three reels, a macaw at the top of reel two, 144.00. With matching outer reels, a symbol in the free spins only has to meet itself on reel two, so lines should come together more often than in the base game.
Birds and fruit
A bet covers ten lines, so a line returns its paytable value divided by ten, measured against the stake:
| Symbol | Three on a line | One line vs stake |
|---|---|---|
| Blue macaw | 50 | 5x |
| Toucan | 40 | 4x |
| Green parrot | 30 | 3x |
| Watermelon | 20 | 2x |
| Papaya | 10 | 1x |
| Mango | 5 | 0.5x |
| Lychee | 2 | 0.2x |
RTP, cap and bets
PG Soft gives the RTP as 96.78%. A spin stops at 2,000x the bet, in the base game or in the free spins. Base line values are modest, so a result near that figure needs a large multiplier, and the only place it can keep growing is the free spins round. It needs nothing but a browser, as do the other PG Soft slots on this site.

One bird, one idea
Everything here depends on the macaws. Line values are low, the macaw itself is worth five stakes on a line, and almost every result I would call good came with at least one bird on the board. A 15% hit rate over 100 spins and a best of 20x describe a game that pays rarely and needs the multiplier when it does. For another compact board from the same year, Rio Fantasia uses a 3x3 grid and a stacked wild that doubles the spin.
