Yakuza Honor Demo

At the end of my Yakuza Honor bonus the five boxes under the grid read x11, x4, x11, x20 and x8. Those boxes are the whole point of this August 2024 PG Soft slot: one sits under each reel, every winning symbol on a reel pushes its box up, and a win is multiplied by the boxes of the reels it covers. Over 100 demo spins at 12.00 three spins went past 400.00, and the best of them paid 593.40.

Without the boxes the game pays modestly: four kanji tokens return 1.80 to 3.00, a quarter of the bet at most.

A 5x5 grid of clusters

Wins are clusters: four or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically, anywhere on the five-by-five grid. Winners explode and the gaps refill. A crossed-katana wild covers every symbol except the gold scatter.

Yakuza Honor 5x5 grid with multiplier boxes

The board above is the demo's opening screen, with four boss portraits worth +5 each. I kept the opening bet of 12.00, and one point of the paytable was 0.60.

How the boxes grow

There is a second effect. A cluster of five gives a wild at a random spot after it is paid, six give two wilds, and seven or more give three, which helps the cascade keep going and the boxes keep climbing.

The session

The demo ended on 100,691.80, so 1,891.80 came back on 1,200.00. Twenty-five spins paid. Spins 79, 10, 61 and 4 (593.40, 418.80, 404.40 and 193.80) made 1,610.40; the other 21 wins came to 281.40, and none of them reached 50.00. From spin 64 to spin 77 nothing paid at all.

Songkran Splash uses a similar idea, with multiplier buckets over the three middle reels of a 720-way board.

The home page shows what else from the studio has been through the same 100-spin test.

Spin 61: a boss portrait and x8

The first round paid 30.00 and switched on the boxes under reels four and five. A boss portrait at the top of reel five added five to its box.

Yakuza Honor cluster paid at x8

The next cluster ran through those reels, and its 46.80 was paid at x8: 374.40. With the first round the spin came to 404.40, almost 34 stakes.

Spin 79: every box lit

My best spin was a long cascade in which wins kept landing across the whole grid. The boxes went from switched off to x2, x4, x5, x4 and x2, single rounds were paid at x6, x9 and x13, and the running total stood at 184.80 halfway through.

Yakuza Honor all multiplier boxes active

The spin ended as a Super Mega Win of 593.40, 49.45 stakes, without any free spins involved.

Boxes that never empty in the bonus round

Twelve free spins follow three scatters; any scatter beyond the third adds two. In the feature the boxes are reset only once, at the start, and keep everything they collect until the last free spin. My round came on spin 10 after a cascade worth 53.40.

The early free spins paid little while the boxes filled. Halfway through, one free spin paid 186.00, and by the last spin the box under reel four had reached x20 and the five added up to x54.

Yakuza Honor boxes reach x20 in bonus

The 12 free spins paid 365.40, and spin 10 as a whole 418.80, about 35 stakes.

Yakuza Honor FAQ

How do the multiplier boxes work in Yakuza Honor?
Each reel has a box below it. A winning symbol on the reel switches it on, every further winning symbol adds 1, and a boss portrait adds 5. A cluster's win is multiplied by the total of the boxes beneath the reels it occupies.
Do the boxes reset during free spins?
No. They reset only when the round begins; in my 12 free spins the highest box finished at x20.
When does the game add extra wilds?
After a cluster of five, six or seven or more symbols is paid, the game places one, two or three wilds at random positions.
What was the best spin of the test?
593.40 on a 12.00 bet, from a base-game cascade that lit all five boxes.
