Two whistles kept my best Futebol Fever spin from becoming a full screen of trophies, and the game put a price on fixing that: 151.77 to respin one of the reels. Paying for a single reel after any base spin is what sets this PG Soft football slot from July 2024 apart. The rest is small. Three reels of three symbols give 27 ways, there are six symbols and no wild, and on top sit a full screen bonus and random multipliers up to x10. The scene is a street pitch under colourful houses, with a star player in yellow and green on the cover. That near miss still paid 540.00 on an 18.00 stake, 30 times the bet.
Same game, real money
Cafe Casino runs the same Futebol Fever with the same math and adds a welcome bonus for players from the United States:

Three symbols on each of three reels means the count never moves: 27 ways on every spin. A symbol pays when it shows up on reels one, two and three. How many ways it pays on is found by multiplying its copies on each reel. Nothing substitutes, because the game has no wild.
The six pictures are the trophy, the jersey, the boots, the ball, the water bottle and the whistle. Below each reel sits a green panel with that reel's respin price, and the figures change after every spin.
Bottles on every reel, then a x2
My spins cost 18.00: size 0.90 on level 2, multiplied by the base bet of 10. One paytable point was therefore 1.80. On this spin water bottles landed twice on each reel, and a x2 dropped onto the board.
Two bottles per reel give eight ways, since 2 x 2 x 2 is 8. At 5 points for three bottles that came to 40 points, 72.00, and the x2 made it 144.00, eight times the stake. The rules allow a random x2, x3, x5 or x10 on any winning spin.
Two whistles short of a full screen
The trophy is the top symbol, 25 points for three. On my best spin reels one and two showed trophies in their top two rows, and reel three was trophies from top to bottom.
Two, two and three trophies multiply to 12 ways. At 25 points each that is 300 points, 540.00, with no multiplier involved, and the game labelled it a Mega Win.
Only the two whistles stood between that board and nine trophies, and the respin panels reacted at once: the prices under reels one and two jumped to 151.77, more than eight times the stake.
Paying to spin one reel again
After any base game spin you may respin one reel at a time, as often as you like, for an extra charge. Each reel has a separate price, worked out from the board in front of you. In my session the prices ran from 0.01 for a reel that could not help to over 150 for a reel that could complete a full screen.
The rules add that the cost does not indicate a greater or lesser chance of winning. Even so, the price follows what the board could become, so the cheap respins are cheap because little can come of them. Cash Mania also respins reels after a near miss, but there the respin is automatic and free.
Nine of a kind pays a fixed prize
When one symbol covers all nine positions, the ways count is dropped and the game pays a fixed bonus from the paytable. The difference is large. Trophies on all 27 ways would add up to 675 points; the full screen prize for them is 2,000.
The stake is ten times size and level combined, which makes nine trophies worth 200 stakes. Put a x10 on that and you arrive at 2,000x, the maximum PG Soft states for the game. Fortune Ox also rewards a full screen, with a x10 rather than a fixed prize. In 100 spins I never filled the screen.
Two prices for every symbol
Every symbol carries two values. The first is for three of a kind on a way and gets multiplied by bet size, bet level and the number of ways; the second is the full screen prize.
The last column divides the full screen values by 10 to put them against the stake. Even the whistle screen is worth ten spins:
| Symbol | 3 on a way | Full screen | Full screen vs stake |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trophy | 25 | 2,000 | 200x |
| Jersey | 15 | 1,000 | 100x |
| Boots | 10 | 500 | 50x |
| Ball | 8 | 300 | 30x |
| Water bottle | 5 | 200 | 20x |
| Whistle | 2 | 100 | 10x |
Hit rate, specs and a 0.30 to 90 bet
Wins were rare: 13 of my 100 spins paid. Nine of those 13 returned five times the stake or more, so a paying spin was usually a decent one. The sheet below has the rest, and the home page lists the other PG Soft games you can try for free here:

What 100 spins showed
Futebol Fever is a small, quick game with one unusual choice. Most base spins pay nothing, and the rest are plain ways wins with the odd multiplier. The paid respin turns every near miss into a decision with a price tag. On my best board, two whistles away from nine trophies, that tag read 151.77 per reel, and in 100 spins the full screen never came.
