Six reels, blocks of different heights
The board has six reels of six rows, but symbols come in blocks two to four rows tall, and a block counts as a single symbol. The number of ways therefore changes with every drop, from 576 to 46,656, and the current figure is printed above the reels. Wins pay from the left, the winning symbols are removed, and the gaps refill from above. Knockout Riches takes the idea of a changing ways count further, ending some spins with stacks that can reach 8,000 ways.
Tall blocks on reels two to five sometimes carry a silver frame. A silver block that wins is swapped for a random symbol wearing a gold frame, and a gold block that wins is swapped for a wild. The picture was taken after the first round of spin 14: reel two holds two blocks in gold frames, which can only come from silver blocks that had just been part of a win.
The multiplier bar
- Round one of every spin pays at x1.
- If round one wins, round two pays at x2.
- A second win in a row gives x3 for round three.
- A third gives x5, which then holds for every further round of that spin.
Between spins it drops back to x1. Most of my spins stopped after one round, so x5 needs at least three wins in a row; on spin 14 it held for five.

In round two the gold king and the gold ace on reel two both won, and both returned as golden trophy wilds. Each wild carried the number 2, the count of wins it can still take part in.
After a win the number drops by one, and a wild that wins on 1 disappears in the following round. So the two trophies stayed for several rounds instead of exploding with the symbols around them. By round four both showed 1, and they joined a glove on reel one and three gloves on reel three, one of them a double-height block.
One glove, two wilds and three gloves make 1 × 2 × 3 = 6 ways of three. A glove pays 10 points for three, so 60 points, 36.00 at my 0.60 per point, and 180.00 at x5. The last four rounds added 264.00 between them.
The game called it a Super Mega Win: 512.40 is 42.7 times the stake. Spin 31 needed only four rounds for 331.20, the last of them 219.00 at x5. Spin 97, three from the end of my session, went further still: a single round at x5 was worth 444.00, with two trophy wilds showing 3 and 2 on the board, and the spin closed at 661.80.
What each symbol is worth
Payouts are per way and assume the 20-point base bet; my 12.00 came from bet size 0.30 at level 2.

Trophies, the wilds, only land on the four middle reels. They stand in for anything but the scatter, the portrait of a player in a purple frame.
Free spins with four multipliers that keep rising
The feature needs four scatters and pays out 15 free spins for them, two more for every extra scatter, with retriggers allowed. The bar under the reels starts higher, at x2, x4, x6 and x10. After every free spin with a win, the four values go up by 1, 2, 3 and 5, so the round becomes more valuable the longer it keeps paying. I never saw four scatters at once, so the round described here comes from the help screens rather than from my session. Safari Wilds from August 2023 opens its free spins on the same x2, x4, x6 and x10, but the values there do not grow.
Mahjong Ways climbs the same x1, x2, x3, x5 ladder in its base game, on a 5x4 board with 1,024 ways; Ultimate Striker puts it on a taller board with far more ways.
